BBA/BBM/BBS : BBA or Bachelor of Business Administration is an undergraduate business management course. The duration of Bachelor of Business Administration is 3 years divided into a number of semesters. The course can be pursued either as a full time graduate course or part time graduate course i.e. through correspondence or distance education depending upon one’s choice. Bachelors Degree programs in Business Administration are also known by various names in different institutes; BBS (Bachelor of Business Studies), BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies) etc are courses which are more or less the same thing.

BBA course is designed to provide basic understanding about management education and to train the students in communication skills effectively which inculcate entrepreneurship skills. The students are prepared to explore opportunities being newly created in management profession. Business Administration study methodology involves training through practical experience in the form of case studies, projects, presentations, industrial visits and interaction with experts from the industry.

Eligibility :

● Any candidate who has passed senior secondary (10+2) exam from any stream with English as passing subject and secured minimum 45% marks at 12th class.

Post Graduate Programs in Management Studies :

MBA/PGDM/PGPM : MBA stands for Master of Business Administration. It is a postgraduate degree course in management whose area of expertise is studying the various aspects of a business setup. Business Administration is a process of managing all the aspects of business to enhance and improve the growth and stability of business enterprise. It is normally a 2 years program with 4 or more semesters varying as per the institute’s policy. The MBA course strengthens the theoretical, analytical, and applied knowledge base of Business Administration. Master of Business Administration degree is one of the most sought after degree which a candidate belonging to any stream can achieve.

The IIM and other autonomous business schools offer a post graduate diploma in management (PGDM) or postgraduate programme in management (PGPM) which is recognised in India as similar to an MBA degree. Government accreditation bodies such as AICTE established that autonomous business schools can offer only the PGDM or PGPM, where as a postgraduate degree can be awarded by University affiliated college, in 2 year full time program. The curriculum of the PGDM or PGPM and MBA degrees are equivalent, though PGDM or PGPM is industry oriented and mainly focuses on building soft skills.

Eligibility Criteria :

Minimum qualification necessary for a hotel management course is 10+2. Depending on the cost and duration of the course, one can opt for a certificate, diploma or degree course. Certificate courses can be of six months to one year duration, a diploma of two years and a degree course of three year duration. Selection for government recognized colleges and institutes are done through the common entrance test held in April every year. The test consists of multiple choice questions in English, Reasoning, General Science and General knowledge. A group discussion and personal interview is conducted further to assess the personality and aptitude of the candidate before he is finally selected for the hotel management course.
